We provide you the convenience of whitening your teeth at home with Opalescence® (Ultradent - USA) . Not all bleaching products deliver by dentist give you at the same time efficiency and safety. Opalescence tooth whitening gel is the only whitening gel recognize and accredited by the American Dental Association. It contains PF (potassium nitrate and fluoride), which helps maintain and even improve the health of enamel throughout the whitening process.
We will custom a bleaching tray to perfectly fit your teeth. The trays are thin, form fitting, and comfortable to wear. By applying the bleaching gel inside the custom-made trays and wearing them only at night (or at day time instead of night time), you can achieve excellent whitening results in as few as two weeks. Depending on the severity of the stains,we may recommend an extended treatment time.
Step by Step for your Home Whitening Procedure
1. Your teeth whitening consultation:
Our dentist will be able to tell you if you are suitable for home teeth whitening treatments. If so, our dentist will then take impressions of your teeth which are then used to produce upper/lower trays made of a soft vinyl rubber.
The trays are tailored to fit the exact contours of your teeth and are specially moulded to fit into your mouth like a gum¬shield. This allows the home teeth whitening gel to closely contact your enamel to produce an all over, consistent, whiter smile. Ready made trays from other home teeth whitening products simply don't allow the close contact that is required to create such even results.
2. Pick up your tray:
During this second visit, our dentist will inform you how to use the trays at home. Your dentist will provide you with 8 syringes of solution for home use, as well as your custom made trays, and will be able to answer any questions you have about home teeth whitening. You will be advised on the best period of time to wear the trays to achieve the desired results.
3. Home treatment:
You will continue the whitening as directed at home. This means regularly applying the whitening product over several days at night time or between 60 and 120 minutes per day ( link to the concentration we will best for you).
The teeth whitening gel produces oxygen which penetrates the tiny pores in the enamel surface of your teeth. The oxygen removes stains that may have become embedded in the enamel over the years using a safe and easy oxidation process.
4. Controle Visit
Come back to our office to check with our dentist the result and to decide if some “touch-up” are necessary
FAQ about Home Teeth Whitening:
Is teeth whitening for everyone?
Teeth whitening is a safe, comfortable way to get a bright, white smile. Results and treatment time may vary depending on the level of staining and whiteness desired. Crowns, bridges, fillings, and veneers will not whiten. We recommend visiting your dentist for a prewhitening consult so that they can help you choose the professional option that best fits your needs.
How long do teeth whitening results last?
Teeth whitening results are very stable, leaving you with a stunning smile long after treatment is over. However, there are a few factors that can make teeth lose their luster. Things like genetics, diet, age, some medications, and certain habits (like smoking) may affect the length of your whitening results. Fortunately, touch-up treatments are quick and easy, helping you get that bright, white smile back.
Will teeth whitening cause tooth sensitivity?
Tooth sensitivity is a relatively common side effect of teeth whitening. If sensitivity occurs, it is often temporary and will go away once you've completed the whitening process. Opalescence products include desensitizing ingredients like potassium nitrate and fluoride to help reduce sensitivity and provide additional comfort.
Will teeth whitening weaken my teeth?
Opalescence tooth whitening gel contains PF (potassium nitrate and fluoride), which helps maintain the health of enamel throughout the whitening process.
Can you whiten non-vital teeth?
Yes! Opalescence® Endo is designed specifically to whiten non-vital teeth. Consider talking to your dentist to learn more about the process for whitening a non-vital tooth.
Can I whiten a crown or a filling?
No, only natural tooth structure can be whitened, any crowns or fillings that you have will not react to whitening products. If you have a crown or a filling that is easily visible, you may want to talk to your dentist about different options for improving your smile.

This process is repeated twice more before you go home with a naturally brilliant new smile
This teeth whitening procedure begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. Your dentist will then apply Brite Smile whitening gel to your teeth. This is applied to the enamel (the protective outer coating) of the tooth and is then heated with a special Brite Smile lamp. The active ingredient in the Brite Smile whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide which works to quickly provide the desired teeth whitening results.
The lamp activates the gel, helping to penetrate the enamel and bleaching away any discolouration without changing the structure of the teeth.
Your teeth are safely whitened without causing any harm to them, resulting in an instantly whiter smile up to ten shades lighter. The results of this procedure are whiter teeth that are fundamentally free of coffee, tea, soft drink, wine or tobacco stains.

Internal tooth whitening treatment explained
Internal tooth whitening is a particular type of teeth whitening treatment that is specially designed for a discoloured front tooth which has previously had a root canal treatment.
Unlike home teeth whitening or Zoom! Advanced teeth whitening treatments, internal tooth whitening is only suitable for very specific cases of tooth discolouration; your dentist will help you discover if it is the right treatment for you.
Your dentist will firstly very carefully assess your tooth to make sure that the type of discolouration is suitable for internal tooth whitening.
Prior to your internal tooth whitening treatment, an X-ray of the tooth will make sure that the root canal filling is of a high quality as it is vital that a good seal between the top of the tooth and the root is in place for internal tooth whitening to be appropriate.
Once your dentist is satisfied that the tooth is a suitable candidate for internal tooth whitening, a small hole will be created in the back of your tooth and the top of the root canal filling exposed. An impervious lining will be placed over this and then a special whitening gel will be carefully placed into the tooth. A tooth coloured filling material will be used to close the hole.
After internal tooth whitening treatment
Normally your dentist will assess your tooth two or three days after your internal tooth whitening treatment. It is common for the gel to require replacement two or three times to achieve the required whitening effect. In some cases it is not possible to completely lighten the tooth to match its neighbours. Your dentist will discuss other treatment options with you if this is the case.
Once your tooth is whitened, a light tooth coloured permanent filling will be placed in the hole to seal the tooth
